Kenya, today less new positives

Rain and cold now is the threat

Pretty quiet day in Kenya for official Covid-19 positive cases.
After three days in a row climbing to a record 47 positives with 3 deaths, in the last 24 hours we have returned to previous levels, with 14 infected out of a thousand swabs performed.
Health Secretary Abdi Aman announced that Kenya's confirmed Covid-19 cases have risen to 621 and that five other patients who were being treated have been declared cured and released from isolation facilities.
At the same time, there were no coronavirus-related deaths, so there are currently 390 active cases.
At today's press conference on Friday, May 8 at Afya House, Abdi Aman specified that all new positives are Kenyan citizens, including 9 males and 5 females, aged between 11 months and 49 years. Only one of these cases came from the mandatory quarantine facilities, while 13 others were detected by the health surveillance team that tracks down the contacts of others infected. 10 of today's positives come from Nairobi, 3 from Mombasa and 1 from Machakos.
"The heavy rains of these days have not helped us - admitted the Administrative Secretary of Health - hindering our control and containment action. In any case, the Ministry of Health is working with the counties to educate people on appropriate measures to prevent the contraction or spread of the Covid-19 virus".
Health Director General Patrick Amoth later revealed that 34 health workers tested positive for the virus, or 4% of total confirmed cases.
