CORONAVIRUS

Only 3 cases of Covid-19 in Kenya Coast

Less positives in the last 24 hours

26-07-2020 by redazione

The numbers of every day are now just numbers, and it is useless exercise to shell them out like a rosary of hopes, fears or other unjustified feelings depending on the bulletin.
What interests us is that the percentage of positives compared to the swabs performed is always the same, just over 10% (yesterday a little higher for the truth) and that they are almost all asymptomatic.
If we then leave the capital Nairobi the situation is really quiet: for a long time hardly anyone dies (the deaths, after an outbreak in the old city of Mombasa that saw some elderly people with previous pathologies die, are almost all circumscribed in the metropolis) and also the intensive care wards, ready for use in almost all counties, are practically empty.
If anything, the problem arises for many other sick people in Kenya who no longer have such easy and fast access to the facilities, swallowed up by Covid-19.
However, in yesterday's bulletin on Saturday 25 July, Kenya recorded 375 new coronavirus infections (Covid-19), bringing the total number of cases to 16,643.
Of the positives, 229 are male and 146 are female. 351 are Kenyan and 24 are foreign. The youngest is a 5-month-old infant and the oldest is 90 years old. 128 healed patients were reported, 75 from the home care program and 51 from hospitals, for a total of 7,574 healings.
Four patients have died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 278.
Nairobi and the neighbouring counties of Kiambu and Machakos recorded 286 cases, while the other 89 are divided between Kajiado and Migori (Tanzanian border), Nakuru Nyeri, Kisumu and Uasin Gishu. On the coast cases continue to fall in Mombasa (only 3) and the rest of the coast would appear to be Covid-19 Free.
