Yesterday 16 covid deceased in Kenya

Percentage goes down but remains over 10

As in Italy, with the relative and clear differences, also in Kenya yesterday there was a marked increase in deaths related to the Covid-19 virus.
There were 16 victims of the pandemic in the African country, 12 of whom were hospitalised in intensive care wards where 27 patients in serious conditions are still intubated, while another 42 are hospitalised and treated with artificial respiratory support, for a total of 69 people.
"The total number of patients currently hospitalised in various healthcare facilities for Covid-19 is 1189 - the Ministry of Health's press release to the media states - while 2661 are treated in isolation at home".
In the 24 hours prior to Wednesday 21 October, Kenya recorded 497 positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 46,144, representing a 10.2% rate of infection compared to 4888 swabs.
There was also an increase in cases among foreigners, yesterday 26 cases out of a total of 295 males and 202 females.
Resignation from the country's hospitals continued, with 68 patients yesterday plus 170 patients exempted from the home care programme due to a negative outcome, for a total of 238 cured patients.
The total number of people who have completed the Coronavirus experience in Kenya rises to 32,760.
As mentioned, unfortunately 16 new deaths bring the total number of deaths to 858.
The cases in the counties were distributed as follows: Nairobi 227, Machakos 64, Mombasa 51, Uasin Gishu 37, Laikipia 28, Busia 19, Kajiado 11, Embu 10, Nakuru 9, Wajir 7, Kiambu and Kilifi 6, Kisumu and Nyeri 4, Makueni 3, Elgeyo Marakwet, Meru, Kisii 2 and Turkana 2, Narok, Homabay and Kakamega 1.
