Kenya, high percentage but less deceased

Government reconsider closure of schools

21-10-2020 by redazione

The situation in Kenya is increasingly under observation by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of the Interior. The percentage of positive cases compared to the swabs analysed is rising to a record negative figure of 14.4%.
This is happening while the Government is reconsidering the closure of the last two classes of primary and high school for next 26 October and the non-reopening of all the other classes that were being considered could take place on that date.
Kenya yesterday, Tuesday 20 October, recorded 571 positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 45,647, of which 12283 are still active, if the statistics are reliable. The swabs analysed in this period of time were 3963.
Of the cases, 558 are Kenyan and 13 are foreign.
Patient discharge activity continues: yesterday 438 patients were declared cured, 373 of them from the home care programme and 65 were discharged from various hospitals.
The total number of healings is now 32,522.
Fortunately the number of deaths is falling: yesterday only 3 individuals succumbed to the disease, bringing the number of deaths to 842.
