Just over 4000 swabs analyzed, almost 300 cases of Covid-19 positivity. The average infection rate compared to the tests carried out in Kenya continues to rise.
A higher and higher average that is compensated by the fact that the swabs that are entered in the numbers presented daily by the Ministry of Health of Kenya are the result of targeted actions and not subjecting ordinary citizens to the tests, and also by the very low severity index of the virus, with four cases out of five completely asymptomatic.
Yesterday, Saturday 27 June, cases of Covid-19 in Kenya rose to 5811 after another 278 individuals tested positive in the last 24 hours.
Speaking at the daily press conference in Afya House, Health Department Chief Mercy Mwangangi said that 4074 samples were tested and of the 278 cases, 181 were men and 97 women. The youngest is a one-year-old infant, the oldest is 81 years old.
31 patients were discharged bringing the total number of those who recovered from the disease to 1,936. Unfortunately, four more patients have died in the meantime, bringing the total number of those who lost their lives to 141.
