CORONAVIRUS

In Kenya, cases of coronavirus continue at the rate of a hundred a day, but there are also many recoveries.
But the fact that it is spreading concerns the Kenyan citizens coming, for work, from neighbouring countries. The average number of infected truckers is much higher than that which emerges from the targeted swabs carried out in Nairobi and other Kenyan cities.
Another 121 people in Kenya have tested positive for Covid-19 tampons in the last 24 hours.
Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe, on Thursday 11 June, also announced that 44 patients have been released, bringing the number of those recovering from the virus to 1092.
The number of targeted swabs analyzed, as many as 3,291, continues to swing the percentage of positives around 3 percent, with about 80 percent of asymptomatic patients being checked directly at home.
The total number of people affected by the coronavirus for three months now rises to 3,215, with a total of 106,247 samples tested so far. 2031 cases are still active in the country.
In his usual statement to the media, Kagwe said that three other individuals have succumbed to the disease, bringing the number of deaths to 92. Of the 121 cases reported today, 115 are Kenyan and 6 are foreign, while 92 are male and 29 female.
The distribution of cases by county is as follows: Nairobi (49), Busia (37), Mombasa (20), Kajiado (5), Migori (4), Kiambu (2) and Kilifi (2) and 1 case each in Murang'a and Nyeri.
The 37 infected detected in Busia, on the border with Uganda, are all truck drivers.
This reveals that Kenya remains one of the best prepared to contain the virus compared to neighbouring countries, where the problem has been minimized or neglected. The death for Covid-19, two days ago, of the President of Burundi, Pierre Nkurunziza, who had not adopted restrictions for his country and special protections for its citizens, the only one in Africa to continue, for example, the football championship and other sports, is indicative.
