Highest number of Covid-19 death in Kenya

12 in the last 24 hours, 1 less than Italy

On the day Kenya mourns the highest number of Covid-19 positive deaths, tests carried out in the country in the last 24 hours until Monday 13 July are at an all-time low.
The situation in Kenya is not yet dramatic, but the number of tampons used is truly derisory, as are those available to conduct on-demand tests for the staff of office companies and sectors required by law.
Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe confirmed during the press conference on the Covid-19 pandemic at the Afya House in Nairobi 189 new cases, bringing the total to 10294 but above all 12 deaths related to the disease, which raise the death toll to 200 (197) and place Kenya in 22nd place in the losses of the last 24 hours, with only 1 death less than Italy. The swabs carried out were 1205, Kagwe revealed that the Ministry server had a problem that limited the capacity of analysis.
There are 65 patients declared healed and discharged from health care or quarantine facilities.
In the meantime, the Minister of Health announced the launch of a new app to search for contacts close to infected people and to check medical records online.
Until a few days ago, surveillance teams of positives and their relatives or friends monitored the development of their situation only through telephone contacts.
In the meantime, the counties are also continuing their efforts to equip themselves with protective equipment and beds in isolation and intensive care units. In parallel with the increase in the number of cases (and hopefully with many more swabs, one figure is enough, South Africa has examined ten times as many as Kenya), the country's facilities should be increasingly prepared to contain the virus and treat those affected.
