During the usual press conference in Afya House, Chief Administrative Secretary of Health Rashid Abdi Aman reported that 3591 tampons were analyzed and as a result of the new positives the total now rises to 6673. There are 186 infected health workers in the country.
Of the 307 cases, 215 are men and 92 women. The youngest is a 1-year-old child, while the oldest is 81 years old.
Only 1 patient has died and 50 are discharged from health care facilities.
The distribution of the latest cases in the various counties is as follows: Nairobi 154, Mombasa 38, Machakos 33, Kiambu 20, Narok 20, Kajiado 17, Busia 10, Kericho 4, Makueni 5, Nakuru 5, Kilifi 1, Kisumu 1, Kitui 1, and Uasin Gishu 1.
"The majority of Kenyans are asking for the possibility of an opening of economic activities and a return to normal life by the government, this discussion is inevitable - said Abdi Aman - but we must find a balance between saving lives and being able to offer means of subsistence".
