Health CS: "Covid-19 cases rise with bad weather"

Asymptomatic in the country now are 92 per cent

30-07-2020 by redazione

Bad weather, lower temperatures especially in Nairobi and the Rift Valley are among the causes of the increase in positives and deaths with Coronavirus in Kenya. It is also a statistic, since in this period historically in the country deaths from flu and pneumonia are always very high. Surely the pandemic is not helping.
This is the opinion of Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe who, warning certain general practitioners that "they make a big mistake when they go to virus experts and all-rounders just because there is the Covid-19 emergency", expressed his concern about the increase in flu symptoms and cold-related diseases.
Someone suggested that alcohol would have warmed the body a little bit during this period, but the Government has banned it, at least in public places and bars that offer cheap artisanal liquors.
"Take advantage of this decision that tends to prevent extreme socialization to use the money you would spend on alcohol to protect your loved ones - said Kagwe during the usual press conference on Covid-19 yesterday, Wednesday, July 29th - I too have never denied myself a drink in the past, but now I have decided to do without it and allocate my savings to other things".
In the meantime, 544 new cases of contagion were recorded in the country yesterday, out of 5259 tampons analyzed, reporting the percentage of just over 10%.
Not only that, according to the voice of the Health Director and WHO national contact person Patrick Amoth, asymptomatic cases are also on the increase, now representing 92% of the positive cases still active.
There have been 12 official deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the count of losses associated with the virus to 311. There have been 113 patients declared cured and the total number of those now negative has risen to 8021.
However, there are also other data that are not included in the Ministry's statistics and are those recorded daily among the news stories in the media, social media and local blogs: there is an increase in cases of sudden deaths or after brief illness, especially related to heart attacks and respiratory problems. It may also be a case that these people are subsequently found to be positive for the virus, because pneumonia in particular is already one of the main causes of death in Kenya. The Health Department has already expressed its opinion: if many of these deaths are recorded as "Covid-19", it means that deaths from other influences and respiratory syndromes are decreasing at the same time.
