A black Sunday for Covid-19 virus cases in Kenya.
On May 3, the negative record of positives in a single day, which are 30, surpassing those of yesterday (24) and confirming a growing trend supported by the beginning of the so-called mass swabs in the country, although in this case the tests performed do not exceed one thousand.
There are now 465 official cases in Kenya, with 22 dead.
Two are the new deaths in the last 24 hours of people who were admitted to dedicated hospitals, but there are also 15 patients declared cured and discharged. The total number of those who made it to the hospital rises to 152.
In the daily press conference, held by the Administrative Secretary of the Department of Health, Abdi Aman in front of Afya House, specified that of the new cases 23 are men and only 7 are women. The youngest infected is a 4-year-old boy.
Abdi Aman warned the Imams and Islamic religious leaders who in various parts of the country open mosques for prayers at night, threatening to suggest actions against them to the government.
The Kawangware district in Nairobi confirms itself as one of the most at risk of an outbreak. Even on the last day 7 of the 30 cases come from there. "Yesterday our team was in Kawangware to carry out a series of targeted swabs - said Aman - From this activity, we confirmed seven new cases. This is now the proof that the virus is now domiciled within us and circulating within the community".
We also report the entrance of Bungoma County among those where there is at least one patient infected with the Coronavirus.
