The Indian national airline Air India returns to fly over Kenya after ten years.
There will be four flights a week on the Mumbai-Nairobi route.
This is the normal consequence of the exponential increase in the number of travellers from India, who have increased by 50 percent since 2018, reaching and exceeding 125 thousand.
"The return of the Indian airline represents a great opportunity for the two countries that for many years have shared commercial and economic ties - said the Director of Kenya Tourist Board Betty Radier, during the maiden flight - Air India will also be essential to ensure rapid connections from other cities in the Asian country such as Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and others.  Air India's return to Kenya adds to the existing connectivity from KQ and other airlines flying to Kenya, further improving accessibility to our country.
Kenya Tourist Board, on the other hand, is committed to strengthening the tourist offer from India, selling the product Kenya with all its opportunities.
In addition to this, there are many Kenyans of Indian origin in the country who on business frequently use direct flights between Nairobi and India, and in this case the competition can only do well.
"The Indian community in Kenya is very well represented - said Radier - so much so that it has recently been registered as our forty-fourth tribe. Tourists arriving from India will easily feel at home and also from the point of view of food will find many solutions to stay appropriate to their culinary and religious habits.
