The renovation of terminals 1B and 1C of Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport has officially begun, and as a result many flights departing from the capital will be delayed. Check-in and boarding operations have been moved to Terminal 1A and some others to Terminal 2.
Here are the 13 companies involved in the move, which over the next 12 months at least will cause some disruption: Lufthansa German Airlines, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, RwandAir, Air Mozambique, Air Saudi Arabia, Turkish Airlines, Egypt Air, Air India, Uganda Airlines, British Airways, Emirates and UNHAS.
"JKIA's Terminal 1B and Terminal 1C have closed to commence renovations to upgrade the airport and improve the passenger experience," reads the Kenya Airport Authority press release. "All flight operations previously conducted in T1B and T1C have been relocated to Terminal 1A and Terminal 2. Passengers are urged to always check their flight status with their respective airlines to avoid inconvenience.
