Beaches finally open to the public in Kenya, albeit with limitations.
The good news for the residents of the coast, especially from Malindi and Watamu and for all holidaymakers (in this period almost exclusively local, but also from other non-European countries) comes directly from the authorities of Kilifi County, reported to Malindikenya.net and verified by other institutional sources: after seven months of closure (apparently, as it happened for other restrictions such as masks and social distances) it will be possible to access the Indian Ocean not only for work (i.e. fishermen and hotel and sea activities staff) or not only as clients of hospitality facilities.
According to the County Commissioner's office, it is possible to walk on the beaches of tourist destinations, but in limited numbers, avoiding gatherings and keeping social distances, exactly as it should happen in any other place.
The directive is reported just a few days after a meeting in Kilifi where Governor Amason Kingi asked all forces in the field to be more present in the controls on non-compliance with the limitations still in place to defeat Covid-19.
In the last few days, in fact, cases have also increased in Kilifi County and for the first time at a national level the Ministry of Health speaks of Malindi and Magarini as small hotbeds.
The limited number of tampons in fact has higher percentages than in the past.
