The low coast route Edinburgh-United States, announced in recent days by the Norwegian Air International, opens a new scenario for international flights at very low price.
And now someone is thinking about it for routes from Europe to Kenya and specifically in holiday places like Mombasa and Malindi.
The Norwegian airline has purchased a fleet of Boeing 737 Max, the latest generation of aircraft can accommodate 189 passengers with a corridor alone and reduce fuel costs by 30 percent compared to flying a plane of great coastal plain.
A plane like this, as numerous experts have pointed out in the past on our site (click here and read the article) could already land in Malindi, from next June when the extension works of the parking and the maneuver will be completed (to date are already all'ottantacinque percent, as announced last month the director of the airport malindino Walter Agong, showing the progress of the same to the local press).
So it's not science fiction to think of low cost Bergamo-Malindi, especially as the Italian international airport was reported by Air International as one of those interesting for its low costs.
Not by chance is the Bergamo-Malindi was used in the mid-nineties by the charter of the former driver Niki Lauda airline, Lauda Air, to land directly Boing 737. Now with the Norwegian news, which will be operational by next June 17 , every scenario is possible.
Comparing prices of the Dublin-New York flight, you could fly from Bergamo to Malindi with 80 euro.
The price would not, however, including meals and checked baggage.
But also a return to 350 € directly on Malindi would be revolutionary.
And above all there would be room for tour operators and hotel chains to book their seats on flights.
