US Ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec spoke in press on the forthcoming presidential election in Kenya.
"We do not have a preferred candidate - said Godec to the Kenyan press - for us it is important that the new president continues on the line of good relations between the two countries, for us the ideal candidate is called Democracy."
Godec has focused on what he considers the priority of the next August 8 elections.
"We will have to be peaceful elections, and our country will give all possible support to Kenya in ensuring the necessary security for it to happen," said Godec, who then said, "the Kenyans want peace, justice and order just as the United States d 'America and, although our country has decided to give its logistic support, only the people of Kenya can ensure that everything is happening in a peaceful climate.'
