The Supreme Court of Kenya upheld the appeal of the Opposition represented by Nasa Alliance and its candidate President Raila Odinga, annulling the result of the national elections.
This is an unprecedented fact in a Republic of the African Continent.
Judges of the Court, chaired by Judge David Maraga, decided by a majority that the elections were not conducted in a clear and fair manner, according to the principles of the Constitution.
So they called the Kenyan people to the polls within the next 60 days.
Nasa had submitted a dossier of 70,000 pages in which, according to opposition politicians, there was evidence that the result of the elections of the last eight August had been tainted by electoral fraud perpetrated by hacking the computerized system of archiving votes, that is to say by using an algorithm to make up the counts and subsequently falsifying forms 34A and 34B that would officially prove Uhuru Kenyattay's victory.
the Supreme Court, in annulling the elections, reserved the right to communicate the entire sentence in the coming days.
"It is a historic day - commented Raila Odinga - Justice has shown that Kenya is a democratic nation and whoever has committed these irregularities must be condemned. We are ready for new elections.
