The Malindi Court of Appeal was rated as the best in Kenya by the annual Justice Report, drawn up and made public by Justice Chief and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, David Maraga.
With a "very good" rating, Malindi ranks first in both resolved and archived cases, with a percentage of 97% instances closed directly (in Kenya's Common Law, the Court of Appeal works as the last Degree of judgment, but in extreme cases it may be postponed to the Supreme Court).
In the past year, all backlogs have been brought to a close and 97% of the existing ones have reached a solution.
Giving comfort to Malindi's jurisdiction, under the auspices of President Milton Makhandia and Judges William Ouko and Kathurima M'Inoti.
It is to be said that in Malindi's great performance much depends on the many cases involving foreign residents, who often prefer short or very direct solutions to their cases.
