"The Kenyan people are dancing with death, the situation in the country is the worst ever.
With these harsh and direct words, Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe expressed himself in one of the most popular in-depth broadcasts on the national TV channel Citizen Tv, conducted by the famous anchorman and journalist Jeff Koinange.
He particularly warned young people that from January they should return to regular lessons at school and invited them not to attend crowded clubs in the meantime and to gather as little as possible and respect social distances, Kagwe said that not even schools can be sure of reopening next January 4th.
"There is nothing concrete - reiterated the Minister - if by 4 January the situation will be considered risky, then we will not reopen".
In recent days, many schools, although only the last primary and high school classes have opened, have detected cases and outbreaks of the virus and one student died after being infected.
Kagwe also reiterated that if the numbers don't fall, his ministry is ready to propose new restrictions before the Christmas holidays, which don't necessarily mean lockdowns, but above all custom decrees for each county.
Meanwhile, yesterday the cases rose to over a thousand cases, exactly 1459 due to a greater number of swabs analysed in 24 hours, or 10,146. The percentage over the last two days has fallen slightly. 
In the same period, 780 patients recovered from the disease; 690 were discharged from the home care programme and 90 from the hospital in the country, bringing the total number of cures in the country to 50,658.
The death toll also rises and is always double-digit: 17 patients lost their lives due to the pandemic virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,330.
In the distribution of positives by County, Nairobi recorded 472 cases, Kiambu 311, Mombasa 108, Laikipia 63, Uasin Gishu 53, Busia 49, Kisumu 48, Meru 43, Nakuru 36, Kericho 33, Kisii 29, Marsabit 17, Murang'a 16, Nyamira 16, Kajiado 15, Garissa 13, Nandi and Kitui both reported 12 cases. Nyeri reported 11 cases, Machakos 11, Siaya 10, Bungoma 10, Turkana 8, Kirinyaga 8, Kilifi 6, Bomet 5, Trans Nzoia 4, Homabay 3, Makueni 2, Taita Taveta 2, Kwale 2, Isiolo and Tharaka Nithi each reported one case.
