What if Malindi and Zanzibar were to share tourists, planning a week-long holiday with them?
And what if from Entebbe and Kampala, metropolises that have no sea, arrived Ugandan families on holiday in Watamu?
More: what if all foreign employees operating in Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda could make a weekend in Malindi by taking a direct and cheap flight?
Last: what if whoever arrives from Italy with Ethiopian Airways finds a Jambojet coincidence that takes him directly to Malindi?
These are some of the possibilities that have certainly pushed Jambojet, the Kenya Airways low-cost line, to obtain licences and schedule flights for 2018 to destinations Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, but also to Addis Ababa and 12 other African destinations.
The officialisation of the beginning of the expansion strategy beyond Kenya was given this morning by the director of the company, the Dutchman Willem Hondius, who confirmed that the program will start with the connections between Nairobi and Tanzania and Uganda and then create the routes on Ethiopia, Rwanda, Somalia and Comoros Islands, plus other Kenyan destinations such as Wajir.
The Kenyan tourism sector is also working actively to connect Malindi directly to Kisumu and to advise the company schedules that can be compatible with international connections on Nairobi.
25 weekly flights from next December 20th from Nairobi to Malindi and return coinciding with the Christmas holidays and year-end.
Program that will probably last for three weeks.
