Italy, protagonist of the economic development of the regions of the Kenyan coast, is what was reiterated during the second conference "Jumuya Agribusiness Blue Economy Investments conference 2019" that began yesterday, Tuesday, December 10 at the Ocean Beach Resort in Malindi.
Important from this point of view is the presence of the Ambassador of Italy in Kenya Alberto Pieri, whose presence on the coast is becoming a pleasant as well as useful habit.
The conference aims to take stock of the important funding of 25 million euros from the European Union, of which Italy together with Germany and thirdly Portugal are the leading countries and "on the ground". The project called "Go Blue", coordinated for us by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AIcS) will see its full entry into force in 2020.
It was Pieri himself who opened the day of institutional interventions (today we will enter specifically with technicians, experts also malindini, as Roberto Marini, consultant of Tourism and "our agent" in Havana Nairobi.
"I am honoured to be able to testify that Italy wants to be more and more involved in the development of the coastal region with important projects - said our Ambassador during his speech - we believe that the blue economy is a fundamental resource for the six counties that make it up and there are already existing initiatives that place us at the side of local institutions to develop solutions that can be the driving force of the economy.
Pieri was cited as a representative of our country and its commitment by both Kilifi County Governor Amason Kingi and colleagues from Mombasa Hassan Joho, Kwale Salim Mvuria and Tana River Houssein Dado.
Italy is taking part in the blue economy projects of existing initiatives, such as the training of managers of the six counties by the Agronomic Institute of Bari.
