Forbes: Kenya one of the 9 safest country for travel

Another Covid-19 award, what about opening from Europe?

05-09-2020 by redazione

Yet another recognition of "Safe Journey" for Kenya, but Europe seems to want to continue to make "all the grass a bundle".
In fact, Kenya has been reported as one of the nine safest countries where to travel in times of Covid-19, for work or vacation, according to the prestigious American business magazine, Forbes.
It is the only country in the African continent to have been included in this first list drawn up by the magazine and is in company with destinations such as Dubai, Maldives and French Polynesia.
The motivation given by the author of the article, a journalist expert in travel and transport safety, is that the country is experiencing the downward phase of the pandemic curve, with a high number of asymptomatic people in the face of low percentages and has had time to equip itself at best, which requires the swab performed no later than 96 hours before arrival.
"Moreover, the number of cases, unlike other states, has decreased even after the reopening of flights on August 1 and with international arrivals" Forbes notes.
According to the magazine, the measures taken in the months prior to the reopening were successful, such as the closure for months of the counties considered hotbeds and with the night curfew still present. Other world situations show how evening gatherings in nightclubs and nightclubs have contributed to the spread of the virus, especially by young people on more vulnerable categories such as the elderly and people with Coronavirus-sensitive diseases.
Other countries declared safe to travel now are Turkey, Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia and Mexico.
This is not the first recognition of its kind for the African country, which is waiting for a sign of reopening to tourism from Europe as well. At the beginning of August, Kenya was already the first country in the world to have obtained the recommended status of "Safer Tourism Resilience Seal" by the global body Rebuilding Travels. The country received the Safe Travel Seal in recognition of the country's adoption of global standardized health and hygiene protocols called "Safe Travel" following the Covid-19 pandemic.
A month earlier, Kenya was among the first destinations in Africa to receive recognition from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
