After the rain in Tsavo, wildlife enjoys

The kenian savana seen from above

Finally it came the rain after more than eight months of drought.
Tsavo was drying up day after day, forcing his animals to prolonged suffering in desperate search of food and water for their survival.
Few days of rain and millions of seeds awaiting only a drop of water, as nymphs unarmed became lush vegetation. And to enjoy this highly anticipated revival of the show we wanted to fly over the Tsavo with a small plane.
Took off from Malindi, only after a few minutes flying those spaces that a few weeks ago appeared semi-deserted with few trees withered by the scorching sun, they appeared resurrected to new life with an endless variety of green combined with rusty red of the earth, made even more alive from the sun's rays; vast expanses of green fields scattered with small and numerous natural ponds, the miracle of nature that is repeated. Like in a movie, dreaming of Africa by Karen Blixen and DenysFinch-Hatton, we flew over the Tsavo East and Tsavo West then up to the Taita Hills, collecting emotions, horizon after horizon. Scattered clouds in the sky still bearers of rain, arranged patchy and between them a rainbow, for the pleasure of the senses. We reduce the power of the engine and we lower it to about 300 feet flying over herds of elephants are drinking and muddying their wrinkled skin that finally returns to shine a beautiful red color, that color that makes them so unique. Some of them as we passed raise his trunk almost in salute while a gaggle of curious giraffe looks at interrupting the meal to keep acacia leaves. In the distance, an unknown number of buffalo, black spots in single file, walking along the green meadows of the Taita Hills. From above we can only imagine the dances of the animals happy and feel the joy of new life in the park. It 's time to return to the bush to savor the smell of damp earth, the flowers with vanilla and vegetation that is reborn again giving away the charm of found emotions and to assist, once again, the miracle of this magnificent land of Africa.
