A grievous mourning envelops the Italian community in Malindi, he has left us one of the deans of the "Italian colony".
Brescia manufacturer Renato Marini. Worn out from a long illness, he died at his home behind the Galana Center, one of his many creations.
Of himself, Renato preferred to say that it was a "hunter", it was actually one of the most forward-thinking entrepreneurs, the first to have believed in the development of Malindi.
Arrived in Kenya with his wife Lisa and their two sons Roberto and Marino in the late seventies in the orbit of the Consolata in Meru missions, from the slopes of Mount Kenya had moved to the coast and had opened the Palm Tree Club, later to become the first Italian hotel in Malindi.
From there an escalation of construction: the Sabaki Center in the eighties, then the Galana in '90 and finally, with his son Roberto, the prestigious Ocean Beach where he had already thought the Oasis (place beautiful, wild by real lovers of ' Equatorial Africa) a few years earlier.
He did not like make advertising, but Renato had another passion, the children of the Children Center "House of the rising sun" of Msabaha.
For years since I had not been there the week there with them to see that everything went better.
A Lisa, Roby Marino and send their deepest condolences, and also a sincere hug from Malindikenya.net.
