REQUIEM
11-09-2014 by Freddie del Curatolo
On Tuesday morning Andrea Cozzi, one of Malindi's most friendly and brilliant friends, was missing.
Architect from Bergamo, always ready to beat and with the philosophy of everyday life. He was 60 years old.
The editorial staff of Malindikenya. net embraces Claudia and also Dario and Valentina, who for him were already as children.
The memory of Freddie.
When a friend leaves, for those who live with words, the first temptation is to write nothing.
It's probably the right temptation, but in Andrea's case I'm sure he would have been the first to tell me "but what fuck do you, Freddie, move you? Look that Lucifer Mica dies, he is absent for a moment. How much? Let's say a little eternity.
Because the architect Andrea Cozzi, from Bergamo, was so done.
He joked about everything and everything he knew how to transform into poetry or at the limit into something to discuss in front of a glass. The problem was, at the end of the day, the problem was that: so many jokes, so much poetry, so many speeches = too many glasses.
And there you could not argue, it was his life and if he drank it with pleasure until the last drop.
When I met him in 2005, he had breakfast with cereals in the morning.
Oat flakes? No, whisky and soda.
Then his love of Kenya had made him more bucolic and reflective.
And a good philosopher is fine with a glass of red wine.
He was intelligent, curious, voracious about human relationships and beauty. Smooth, yes.
Because he had explored the splendors and miseries of mankind and had lived on the crest of the wave and in the deepest abysses. Then he met Claudia, the woman who most understood him and gave him that calm of Africa that was transforming him into the old wise man who would become. Even if he did not want to know how to age.
The old people disgust me,"he said, with the usual cynicism that he himself would deny five minutes later. And when he used to say a fake evil thing, he was lifted up his eyebrows and turned into Lucifer.
A few days ago, my adorable friend, you visited me and you gave me a special bottle of beer that had brought you from Italy. It is called Lucifer. For me it's too strong by now, drink you, my friend.
I would have liked to have left her there, as a collector.
I will drink it now for you, adorable Andrea. Waiting for this piece of eternity to pass.
