Fifty-four years ago on June 1, 1963, the Kenyan Shadow Government, with President Jomo Kenyatta, forged the first excerpt of the Constitution of Kenya, which would then come into force on 12 December of the same year.
That is why today in Kenya, like all the years, Madaraka Day is celebrated.
It should be remembered that on the same day the famous banner with the symbol shield of those who had fought for independence on a red and green black background was first shown in public.
During this National Holiday, banks and public offices will be closed and numerous parties and events will be celebrated in the country.
President Kenyatta, returning from yesterday's inauguration of the fast-track Nairobi-Mombasa, will speak as usual at Uhuru Park in Nairobi, although the event has not yet been confirmed.
