After so many months of waiting since the official announcement of the financing for the work on the Malindi waterfront road, finally now the construction site is in place and the workers of the company Equistar are proceeding expeditiously. In the last few days, after having temporarily fixed the holes to allow the vehicles to pass and to carry materials and machinery, the excavations for the water disposal channels have started. In the next few days the concrete pipes will be laid and then covered.
Finally, the entire section from the Tangier Lounge to the Baobab will be re-plastered.
This is one of the most important works for the town because, in addition to making the road passable, it will allow you to pass through an area still full of charm and local, as well as overlooking the historic Arab neighborhood and hosting the Casa delle Colonne portoghese, the cemetery built by Francisco Xavier in the sixteenth century and open the view to the pillar of Vasco Da Gama. The completion of the Malindi promenade road will precede the completion of the redevelopment of the beachfront, the first lot of which is scheduled for June, with sports fields, sea walks and small gardens with games for children.
