Possible problems for the italians coming to Kenya

Ministry of Health ask for 14 days self-quarantine

02-03-2020 by redazione

The Government of Kenya announced this morning some restrictions on the entry of travelers in Kenya that may also affect Italian citizens.
The new Minister of Health Mutahi Kagwe announced that citizens from countries considered hotbeds of Coronavirus infection, i.e. China, Italy, Iran and South Korea, will have to observe a period of 14 days of self-quarantine, i.e. not to leave their homes once reached and stay in contact with the local health authorities. This is confirmed by the daily newspaper Daily Nation, which was the first to broadcast the news. But we are waiting for an official communication and our institutions in Kenya are actually in talk with Kenya Government.
A "middle" procedure that can clearly dissuade any tourist from going to Kenya and above all cancel holidays that last less than two weeks.
Our institutions are working to find remedies to this decision which has not yet been implemented but whose official communiqué could arrive at any moment.
In the meantime, we are working to have Italian citizens who present themselves with a medical certificate stating that they are not affected by the Co-Vid19 virus accepted at the entrance to Kenya, so for those who have to come to Kenya and have already booked a flight, it could be possible to enter by doing the famous swab, even if without symptoms the swab is not usually done.
