Nairobi will help small enterprises to grow

From County more tenders for young people and women

04-09-2017 by Antonio Altieri

Nairobi County will help small and medium-sized enterprises to grow.
According to an agreement signed by the newly appointed Governor of Nairobi Mike Mbuki Sonko and the Kenyan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), local companies run by women and those formed by young people will have the right to win a tender every three of those launched by the County of the Capital.
The agreement also provides for specific training on entrepreneurial skills needed to survive in the competitive environment of Kenyan companies.
The Chamber of Commerce also plans to set up a small business database to ensure structured commitment and better coordination.
They developed two tailor-made business plans for small and medium-sized enterprises in Nairobi County,"said KNCCI President Richard Ngatia," in order to help trace the success of small businesses and their potential impact on employment and the economy.
The Governor will also support the program with a program of partnerships and soft loans for micro businesses managed by young people and women who will be able to benefit from them.
Among these craftsmen, the so-called "Jua Kali" and sectors such as music, art and culture.
