Kenya: women stole 17 televisions dressed like nuns

Kes 600.000 Swindle in a electronic shop in Molo

In Italy we say that "the suit doesn't make a monk", but maybe in Africa she can still be a nun.
A news report that appeared in the national newspaper "The Standard" tells of a scam of more than 5000 euros perpetrated by two women dressed all the way as clergymen, with a rosary in their hands as well as crucifixes by order and white headdresses. He is scamming a household appliance shop in the town of Molo, in the north of the country. Joseph Wainaina, owner of the emporium, told the police the following episode: "Two nuns entered my shop and in the name of their parish bought 17 HDTVs of various models, from Samsung, LG and Sony. When they were paying, they asked to be able to do so by cheque.
How can you say no to two church women?
The cheques, paid after a few dozen minutes in the bank, turned out to be false, but the two ladies from the allegedly successful disguise had already run away.
It's not the first time that such a disguise has worked for a scam in Kenya: last year in the Nairobine district of Karen a group of women dressed as sisters of a congregation asked an employee of the exchange office of a bank to be able to change twenty thousand dollars into shillings.
Even in that case, the employee had not checked all the banknotes expertly, trusting the nuns.
