The rise in the minimum national wages promised by Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta during the May 1st celebrations is already a reality.
The Decree Law signed May 1, 2017 bearing the name of the Minister of Labor Phyllis Kandie proposes all new upgraded wages that increase by 18% as announced by the Government.
The trade unions of the different categories targeted 20% and some even 22%, but for now they can settle for this necessary adjustment.
Here you can download the official document with the minimum wages of all categories of workers.
Malindi and the other centers of the Kenyan coast, with the exception of Mombasa, are part of the second category "Former municipalities".
