With the start of the new year, Kenya has entered a new era in terms of entry into the country. From now on, you can only travel to Nairobi or Mombasa for tourism if you have completed an online visa, the so-called "evisa".
Here are some warnings.
IMPORTANT: By order of the Kenyan Immigration authorities to the airlines, those who do not have the online visa will not even be boarded on a flight to Kenya.
Some tourists travelling to Kenya were denied boarding at Milan's Malpensa airport yesterday
because they did not have an online visa or payment receipt.
In fact, the payment receipt will be considered valid if the online visa has been processed but before departure has not been transmitted with the possibility of printing it.
In this case, it is sufficient to show the payment receipt and the passenger will be boarded.
Once you have arrived at your destination and are in possession of the QR code, you can show the payment receipt and the local authorities will check the requirements on their website.
Remember that in order to fill out the visa online you need to go to the accounts.ecitizen.go.ke/register/visitor link on the Kenyan immigration website.
