An additional obstacle to the expansion of Malindi International Airport and the construction of the track to accommodate boeing from Europe and any other aircraft from abroad: 25 thousand homeowners and landowners have, through a lawyer, long time Presented to the Malindi court a case against the acquisition of the space needed to mount Malindi to complete the work, for which long the Government has allocated the necessary funds.
The protest addressed in the case was first received by Judge Malindi who ordered the blockade of work pending investigations and that the matter was discussed at the appropriate locations.
For now, those interested, from the Director of Walter Agong Airport to the Ministry of Transport, have preferred not to comment. What is known is that fair compensation has been paid to legitimate property owners or landlords, but many are abusers or people who have invalid contracts or documents. In addition there are already pre-existing causes that block some other properties.
A case that will hardly be resolved before the upcoming national elections in August, as an unpopular decision could locally shift substantial handfuls of votes.
