She trained for six months and when they saw her seriousness, competence and above all endurance, many sponsors including suppliers of flour, vegetable butter, rice and more, believed in her. A month ago, Maliha Mohamed, Mombasa's cook, cooked continuously for 54 hours, but said she was sure she could improve that time, and beat the record set by the famous Guinness Book of Records that belonged to an American chef, Rickey Lumpkin of Los Angeles and that resisted for twelve months: 68 hours and 30 minutes.
Cooking over four hundred international recipes (including Italian spaghetti Bolognese, or ragout) in the kitchen of Kenya Bay Resort in Mombasa, for the benefit of children in some children's centers in the area, Maliha broke the previous record in the presence of the official supervisor of the Guinness Book of Records. 
Maliha is a professional chef specializing in Indian cuisine, Swahili but a great connoisseur of all the most important international culinary specialties. A pool of assistants helped her to prepare the ingredients, but the finalisation of the dish was always her work, uninterruptedly for just over three days in a row. Really incredible!
